Ed Thompson deserves fairness on opinion page

The Waukesha Freeman. Published Letter to the Editor. July 10, 2002. I was disgusted reading Dennis Shook's editorial titled, "Ed Way." Ed Thompson is the only candidate in the field who is even attempting to clean up the corruption in the state. Why is it that everyone complains that they are sick of "politicians" but then when someone who is not a career politician runs for office, editorialists such as Shook ridicule them for even trying? How is that going to make our democracy any better? Even if you don't agree with Thompson, you should at least give him a fair shake. For it is differing opinions that advance a debate. Thompson is for real, and everyone should take notice because he is going to surprise a lot of people! Good luck Ed. Ben Gorges, New London |
