Vote for Thompson is vote against status quo

Trying to be an informed voter, I have followed the governor's race closely.

What have I learned? The two-party system controls the debates, the election board and the matching funds. The Republicans and Democrats are geared to negative advertising and campaign tricks. Half-truths and lies are a way of life to the Republicrats. Scandals of state workers working on campaigns and extorting campaign money in return for votes on bills are a way of life the current politicians see as acceptable.

Bribes and payoff money are part of the two-party system. Blocking third-party candidates from debates and their right to free speech helps to continue the current way of political life and therefore is acceptable.

Strong-arming mentally handicapped patients with food, drinks and quarters to secure a back-room absentee ballot vote is acceptable. If you are caught at the tricks and lies, a little more deceit will get you through until the election and there is no harm done in leading the voters down a predetermined path to the voter booth until the election is over. Promise a platform of change when both the Republicans and Democrats know the truth in their actions will be totally different after the elections.

Wisconsin is just a "nation of sheep" being taken to slaughter. Our ethics and morals have always been to be trusting and compassionate people, and we expect the same level of ethics and morals in our political arena.

My conclusion: The value of my vote is worth more than following the trickery, deceit and corruption by the two big political parties. My vote will be for honesty, straightforward truth, common sense and solutions. I am worth more to myself by following this moral and ethical path, and I believe Wisconsin feels the same way as a whole.

I am voting for Ed Thompson for governor because I refuse to be just another sheep led into the voter's booth. I will stand up for my conviction of honesty and fair play, and that vote is worth unlimited value both to myself and the state of Wisconsin. I encourage you to do the same and stand up in the voting booth. Select Ed Thompson for Wisconsin governor and send a clear message of your ethics and how you feel about the two-party system and their "business as normal" in Madison.

Vote Ed Thompson for governor on Nov. 5th.
