Libertarian will enhance Elections Board

Brookfield News (Brookfield, Wis.)

Published Letter to the Editor.

February 7, 2003.

Republican state sens. Tom Reynolds and Cathy Stepp should be ashamed of their missed opportunity June 19 when they both failed to support a motion that would have ended -- on a date certain -- the stadium tax for Miller Park.

Reynolds and Stepp purport to be for small government, but neither of them apparently felt the need to support the June 19 motion. Worse yet, Stepp's press release (which also mentions Reynolds) contradicts her vote, something not very helpful to her constituents.

A 1/10th of 1 cent sales tax was imposed in five southeastern Wisconsin counties in 1996 to help pay costs of constructing Miller Park. Miller Park has been built. The time to end the tax is now.

Just another reason I will be voting Libertarian come 2004.
